Castle 講述的是 Halsey 對於音樂產業的不滿，這個產業就像是一座城堡，由男性主宰的城堡。

她在訪談說到：「這首歌裡面提到的 Old Man 指的是『長老』的角色，當我剛開始在台上表演時總會想說『這樣穿著會不會太暴露?』、『我應該說這些話嗎?』、『我是不是不該罵髒話?』，但接著我又會開始想說『我為什麼要在意這些? 如果我沒有冒犯到你，我又何必要取悅你? 我沒必要取悅任何人。』，這就是Castle要表達的，進入音樂這個產業，我很清楚的知道我不需要遵守任何人的規則。」

- 成名帶來的困擾，不僅有黑特的閒言閒語，還有狗仔和粉絲不斷的拍照。

- Halsey知道自己起身反抗只會被撻伐，但她的驕傲讓她不願意服從。

- 在拉丁文的意思是『上帝的羔羊』，Halsey的團隊對她賦予期望，希望她能成為皇后，帶領大家打破這個體制。

- 在城堡裡有位坐在王座上老男人，因為權威受到挑戰，便要Halsey閉上她的嘴。這裡也意指男性在許多產業的霸權，高階主管或是老闆多數為男性。

- 這裡的 walls (牆)有兩個意思，第一個是老男人警告Halsey：「若是妳堅持要打破城牆(體制)，妳就會付出代價」。第二個是因為Halsey的驕傲形成了一道牆，若是踩到她的底線，對方就會付出代價。

在 BADLANDS 專輯介紹 有提到電影『飢餓遊戲』，可以將電影角色直接帶入這首歌， Halsey (凱妮絲)、老男人 (史諾總統)、音樂產業 (都城)，而團隊希望 Halsey 成為皇后，也就是電影裡的 Mockingjay (學舌鳥)。
